The Story in 60 Seconds

Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has labelled Chelsea "bigger and worse offenders" than Manchester City regarding financial rule breaches. His comments followed Manchester City being found guilty of 114 Premier League charges, which the club denies and has appealed. Jordan argued on Piers Morgan's Sports Uncensored that Chelsea continued breaking financial rules despite already benefiting from Roman Abramovich's heavy spending prior to the introduction of tighter restrictions.

Chelsea previously admitted to financial breaches involving £47.5 million in undisclosed payments made between 2011 and 2018 by entities associated with Abramovich. The club was subsequently fined £10.75 million and received a suspended one-year first-team transfer ban. The Premier League noted that Chelsea would not have breached profitability and sustainability rules even if the undisclosed payments had been properly submitted.
