Monroe Freeling expects to put in work at both tackle spots, giving Carolina depth behind starters Taylor Moton and Rasheed Walker.

The Carolina Panthers may soon face an offensive tackle surplus as rookie Monroe Freeling nears a return from a knee injury while veteran Taylor Moton has returned to action. Moton played all 79 snaps at right tackle during Carolina's 25-14 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles after recovering from blood clots in his lung. With Rasheed Walker firmly established at left tackle, head coach Dave Canales noted the team is evaluating multiple scenarios for the offensive line.
Freeling, selected 19th overall in the draft, started the first four games at right tackle but is now likely to transition into a backup swing tackle role. Canales emphasized that Carolina will prioritize putting out the healthiest and most effective unit as the Panthers maintain a 1.5-game lead in the NFC South. Freeling expressed support for Moton's return and indicated readiness to cross-train at both left and right tackle once fully cleared.
