James Maddison revealed he spoke with Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi ahead of Monday's match against Coventry City, expressing that he felt ready to return to the starting lineup. Maddison marked his first start in 18 months following an ACL injury by scoring the opening goal in Tottenham's 3-1 victory over Frank Lampard's side, which ended Spurs' six-match winless streak.
Following the match, Maddison dismissed suggestions about leaving Tottenham, stating he has much more to give the club. Additional goals from Omar Marmoush and Ben Davies helped secure the win, lifting Tottenham out of the relegation zone up to 16th place in the Premier League table.
