Lance Stroll did not attempt to sugarcoat his appraisal of Honda's latest power unit upgrade for Aston Martin, which was quietly delivered at the Spanish Grand Prix.

Lance Stroll has delivered a blunt critique of Honda's latest engine upgrade, stating that Aston Martin continues to struggle heavily on the power unit side. Speaking after Honda introduced its second Additional Development and Upgrade Opportunities package in Spain, the Canadian driver admitted the updates have done little to close the performance deficit, calling the engine situation the team's biggest question mark heading into 2027.
While Stroll expressed optimism regarding Aston Martin's chassis development and aerodynamic direction, the team remains tenth in the constructors' standings with only seven points. In response to performance shortfalls stemming from a delayed development cycle, Honda reshuffled its leadership in October by placing Yoichiro Fukao in charge of the Formula 1 program.
