The Story in 60 Seconds

British company Sentronics Holdings Ltd has filed a federal lawsuit in Texas against rival German firm Allengra GmbH ahead of the United States Grand Prix. Sentronics claims Allengra infringed on its patented fuel flow meter design featuring phase-modulated ultrasonic technology. Allengra won the exclusive FIA contract to supply all Formula 1 teams with fuel flow meters for the 2026 to 2030 period, but Sentronics alleges the design relies directly on its protected intellectual property.

The lawsuit, lodged in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas, demands a trial by jury and damages for lost profits dating back to July 2022. Sentronics is not currently seeking an emergency restraining order, ensuring this weekend's race in Austin will proceed unaffected.
