Queensland had earned a narrow lead which looked far more significant later in the day…

Xavier Bartlett produced a destructive bowling spell to put Queensland in command against South Australia on day two of their Sheffield Shield match at Adelaide Oval. After Queensland posted 238 in reply to South Australia's first-innings total of 203, Bartlett took 3 for 33 to reduce the hosts to 104 for 7 by stumps, giving South Australia a narrow lead of only 69 runs.
Bartlett removed Henry Hunt, Jake Weatherald, and Jake Lehmann, while also taking a sharp slip catch off Cameron Gannon to dismiss Nathan McSweeney. Earlier in the day, Jack Clayton top-scored for Queensland with 66, while Brendan Doggett claimed 3 for 46 for South Australia.
