The Houston Texans could be among the teams that takes advantage of the Philadelphia Eagles’ situation, swinging a trade for Saquon Barkley.

ESPN analyst Benjamin Solak proposed a trade prediction sending Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley to the Houston Texans ahead of the NFL trade deadline. Under the suggested proposal, Houston would acquire Barkley in exchange for running back Woody Marks, a 2027 third-round draft pick, a 2027 sixth-round pick, and a 2028 second-round pick to bolster the Texans' struggling ground game.
Solak highlighted that Barkley could elevate the 2-4 Texans' offense and relieve pressure on receiver Nico Collins despite Houston's shaky interior offensive line. However, the report notes major obstacles, including Philadelphia absorbing roughly $26.5 million in dead cap space in 2027, along with Houston facing draft capital limits and an upcoming contract extension for quarterback C.J. Stroud.
