Former MLB infielder Trevor Plouffe stated that New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge and manager Aaron Boone must personally address the team's accountability and clubhouse culture. Speaking on "Baseball Today," Plouffe argued that bringing in an outsider cannot fix internal culture issues and questioned whether Judge strictly polices daily preparation and baserunning in an environment he viewed as relaxed.
Meanwhile, former Yankees manager Joe Girardi defended Boone, arguing that the 2026 campaign was among Boone's best managerial seasons despite an early playoff exit. The Yankees finished the season at 93-68, with reports indicating Boone will return to complete the final year of his contract.
