Sunderland legend Gary Bennett has assessed the Black Cats’ performance in Sunday’s defeat at Bournemouth.

Sunderland legend Gary Bennett voiced deep concern over the club's performance following a 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. The result pushed Regis Le Bris' side into the Premier League relegation zone after suffering their fifth loss in seven matches. Bournemouth secured the win with an early goal from Marcus Tavernier and a second-half finish from Evanilson.
Speaking to BBC Newcastle, Bennett criticized the recurring defensive mistakes, specifically targeting errors by centre-backs Kevin Danso and Omar Alderete. Danso was issued a straight red card for hauling down Evanilson, which will rule him out against Leeds United. Bennett questioned the squad's focus, intensity, and fitness after conceding early goals in both halves.
