Washington Wizards rookie and No. 1 overall pick AJ Dybantsa will miss Wednesday's regular season opener against the Milwaukee Bucks due to an ankle injury suffered in the preseason finale against the New Orleans Pelicans. Head coach Brian Keefe noted that Dybantsa will be evaluated day-to-day following the opener, leaving the team to evaluate its starting lineup options.
According to Bryson Akins of Wizards On SI, Bilal Coulibaly and Tre Johnson are the primary candidates to replace Dybantsa in the starting five alongside Trae Young. Additional rotational possibilities include Justin Champagnie and Bub Carrington, though Keefe has not officially announced who will start.
