Milwaukee Brewers assistant general manager Matt Kleine has emerged as a candidate for the Houston Astros' vacant general manager position, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today. The Astros are searching for a new executive after parting ways with Dana Brown in late August. Owner Jim Crane waited until the conclusion of the season to formally begin the hiring process.
Kleine has spent nearly 20 years within the Brewers organization, working under GM Matt Arnold and earning a promotion to assistant GM in 2023. Alongside their executive search, the Astros are also seeking a new manager following the departure of Joe Espada.
