Gordon Strachan says there are some 'rotten teams' at international level and declares the English Premier League the best in the world, with Scottish football now falling further behind…

Former Celtic and Scotland manager Gordon Strachan stated that Celtic and Rangers can no longer compete with English Championship teams. Speaking on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast alongside Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, and Paddy McGuinness, Strachan argued that the Old Firm rivals would struggle near the bottom of the English Premier League due to rising standards in English football.
Strachan noted that Celtic previously held the fifth-highest wage bill in Britain during the early 2000s, but Scottish football has since fallen behind. He also shared anecdotes from his playing days at Aberdeen, recounting how former manager Alex Ferguson had youth players babysit for senior squad members to monitor their weekend activities.
