Liverpool defeated Villarreal 4-3 in a Champions League clash at Anfield, despite goal contributions from Canadian players Tani Oluwaseyi and Nathan Saliba. Villarreal initially took a 2-0 lead through an early Georges Mikautadze goal and a Sergi Cardona strike assisted by Saliba. However, Liverpool responded with four unanswered goals from Alexis Mac Allister, Ronald Araújo, and Florian Wirtz to take control.
Oluwaseyi came off the bench at halftime and scored a late consolation goal for Villarreal, his second consecutive Champions League score. The defeat marks Villarreal's second loss in three European games under manager Iñigo Pérez, while Liverpool maintained their perfect start with three wins from three.
