It’s not the Champions League game for Jonathan David against a German club that Canadian fans are so eagerly anticipating, but it’ll have to do for now. David and the Spanish giants visit Stuttgart on matchday three. Matchday four promises…
Canadian forward Jonathan David has been named in the starting lineup for Atletico Madrid's UEFA Champions League clash away against VfB Stuttgart on Tuesday night. Diego Simeone opted to start David in attack alongside Julian Alvarez for the matchday three encounter, as the Spanish side looks to build on their previous 2-0 European victory over Manchester United.
Stuttgart enter the fixture having won their opening two Champions League matches, though they currently sit 13th in the Bundesliga. Atletico Madrid reportedly want to make David's current loan deal a permanent transfer as he seeks to end a three-game scoring drought ahead of an upcoming clash against Bayern Munich.
