Simon Harmer broke Dale Steyn's 18-year-old record for the highest individual score by a South African batting at number nine or lower against Australia. Harmer scored 82 off 91 balls on Day 3 of the second Test at St George's Park in Gqeberha, surpassing Steyn's mark of 76 set in 2008.
