Ben Simmons was well on his way to making a comeback in the NBA. That was until he tore his Achilles while practicing last Sunday.

Sacramento Kings forward Keegan Murray described Ben Simmons' torn Achilles as probably the worst thing he has seen on a basketball court. Simmons suffered the season-ending injury during a team practice on Sunday, ruling him out for the remainder of the 2026-2027 NBA campaign.
Simmons had recently signed a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Kings after missing the previous season to rehab lingering knee and back issues. Despite the injury occurring before opening night, ESPN reported that Sacramento intends to pay Simmons his full salary for the season.
