Aaron Boone will stay in New York in the final year of his contract.

The New York Yankees have decided to retain Aaron Boone as their manager for the 2027 season. Boone, 53, is set to enter his 10th season managing the club under the final year of his existing contract extension, in which he is owed $5.5 million.
The decision follows the Yankees' recent elimination from the postseason, where they were swept 3-0 by the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS. Despite the early playoff exit extending the franchise's World Series championship drought that dates back to 2009, the organization has chosen continuity for Boone rather than making a managerial change.
