Days after their unbeaten start to the season came to an end, Freiburg are back in action as they take on Monaco in the Europa League.

SC Freiburg travel to face AS Monaco in European competition shortly after their unbeaten start to the season ended with a loss to Bayer Leverkusen. Under manager Julian Schuster, the German club has experienced a strong campaign and looks to build on their earlier continental victory over Jablonec. Meanwhile, Filipe Luís leads a Monaco side that is currently tied for points at the top of Ligue 1.
Monaco enter the clash with a strong home record, having claimed victory in three of four domestic fixtures this season following an opening European win against CSKA Sofia. For team availability, Monaco will be without winger Stanis Idumbo and Eric Dier. Freiburg travel with an almost fully fit squad, missing only Florent Muslija through injury.
