That wasn’t a win, it was a statement. You almost sort of forget that Columbus scored on its first shot of the game. After that, it was all Toronto. That’s where the conversation started on the Wednesday edition of Leafs…

Former Columbus Blue Jackets head coach Dean Evason appeared on the Leafs Morning Take show to evaluate the Toronto Maple Leafs' supporting cast and Kirill Marchenko's performance. The discussion followed Toronto's commanding 6-2 victory over Columbus, during which Marchenko scored a goal in his return against his former club, while Easton Cowan produced a three-point night featuring a shorthanded goal.
Evason discussed the tension surrounding Marchenko's Columbus departure, evaluated the Matthew Knies trade, and commended Toronto's offseason depth and penalty kill. Head coach Jim Hiller reported that defenseman Jake McCabe's early exit following a high stick was purely precautionary, as Toronto successfully went 6-for-6 on the penalty kill.
This Islanders defenceman could be the perfect short-term fix for the Maple LeafsEditor in Leaf
