Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has responded to speculation linking his side with a move for Florian Wirtz after admitting he feels ‘a little sorry’ for the Liverpool midfielder.
Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has dismissed transfer speculation linking the club with a move for Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz. Speaking about the 23-year-old German international, Hainer praised Wirtz as an outstanding player but clarified that Bayern are currently satisfied with their top-class squad and are not pursuing a transfer deal.
Wirtz joined Liverpool in 2025 for a reported fee of €125 million but has struggled in the Premier League, recording five goals and four assists in 39 matches. Despite rumors of interest from Bayern and Chelsea, Liverpool reportedly have no desire to sell the playmaker and remain committed to making his signing a success.
