AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft, will miss the Wizards' season opener on Wednesday because of an ankle injury.

Washington Wizards rookie AJ Dybantsa will miss Wednesday night's regular-season opener against the Milwaukee Bucks due to an ankle injury. Wizards head coach Brian Keefe announced the update on Tuesday, confirming that the No. 1 overall pick is considered day-to-day with a mild ankle sprain.
Dybantsa sustained the injury after landing awkwardly on his left ankle following a second-quarter jump shot in Friday's preseason finale. His next opportunity to make his NBA debut will come on Friday night at home against the Toronto Raptors.
