France national team manager Zinedine Zidane and his staff closely monitored Lucas Hernandez's standout performance during Paris Saint-Germain's 4-2 victory over FC Barcelona. Starting in place of Nuno Mendes, Hernandez contained Barcelona's Lamine Yamal and scored PSG's second goal with a header before being substituted for Warren Zaire-Emery.
Hernandez was omitted from Zidane's previous national team squad in favor of Adrien Truffert and Andy Diouf. According to RMC, his display at the Parc des Princes could bolster his chances of earning a recall for upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures against Italy and Turkey.
