Mariners’ manager search includes Cubs farm director Jason Kanzler, among others: Sources

The Seattle Mariners have identified candidates for their open managerial position, including Chicago Cubs farm director Jason Kanzler, former Houston Astros manager Joe Espada, and Los Angeles Dodgers special assistant Rocco Baldelli. According to league sources, the Mariners are currently in an advanced stage of their search process to replace former manager Dan Wilson, who was fired after Seattle finished with a 76-86 record.

Kanzler, 36, has directed Chicago's player development system for three seasons and previously coached with Houston. Both Espada and Baldelli offer past managerial experience, with Espada recently departing the Astros and Baldelli having spent seven seasons leading the Minnesota Twins.
