Broadcaster Michael Kay shared his perspective on New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman following the team's postseason exit. Speaking on his show, Kay stated that while he opposes firing Cashman or manager Aaron Boone, the Yankees must fundamentally alter their player evaluation methods and operational approach rather than maintaining the status quo.
The commentary followed an end-of-season press conference where Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner confirmed Boone will manage in 2027 and Cashman agreed to an extension. The Yankees now face key decisions ahead of next season, with 10 players scheduled for free agency.
