The Toronto Maple Leafs need to seriously talk about Easton Cowan's place on the team, given the start to his season.

Nestor Quixtan of Heavy argues that the Toronto Maple Leafs must maintain Easton Cowan's spot in their top-six forward group even when injured forward John Tavares returns. Cowan has recently played alongside Nick Paul and Kirill Marchenko, establishing himself beyond his previous status as a sheltered prospect.
Quixtan notes that Cowan also earned penalty kill time, scoring his first career shorthanded goal against Columbus following a rush with William Nylander. The writer adds that Cowan is reportedly no longer available in trade discussions and suggests the 2023 28th overall pick could be considered a top-10 talent in re-drafts.
