The Sacramento Kings were hoping to leave last season's injury bonanza behind, but that didn't work out during the 2026 preseason.

Ian Goodwillie of A Royal Pain reports that the Sacramento Kings enter the 2026-2027 season facing a severe wave of injuries following a challenging preseason. Ben Simmons suffered a torn Achilles after returning from a back injury and will miss the entire season. Additionally, sophomore big man Maxime Raynaud sustained patella damage after colliding with Stephen Curry and is expected to miss multiple games.
Other Kings players dealing with ailments include Dylan Cardwell, Precious Achiuwa, Malik Monk, and Keegan Murray. Goodwillie notes that head coach Doug Christie could be without up to six players for the season opener, expressing concern that heavy minutes for rookie Darius Acuff Jr. and returning veterans like Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine could compound Sacramento's injury troubles.
