NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell addressed multiple pressing controversies during the NFL's fall ownership meetings in New York. Goodell defended the league's handling of medical protocols surrounding Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who played in London following a superficial blood clot diagnosis before developing deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary emboli, prompting an NFLPA investigation. Goodell maintained that league medical officers followed all proper procedures while prioritizing the quarterback's health.
Goodell also fielded questions regarding San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York returning from a six-game suspension, as well as New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch's inclusion in Department of Justice documents. Additionally, Goodell confirmed the league has no plans to cancel its upcoming game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints in Paris despite recent protests.
