New York Yankees managing partner Hal Steinbrenner addressed the media via Zoom, offering public backing to general manager Brian Cashman and manager Aaron Boone. Steinbrenner announced that Cashman's new contract is nearly finalized while placing the blame for the team's disappointing 2026 season directly on the roster, specifically citing a detrimental offense.
Steinbrenner also pushed back against Aaron Judge's comments regarding the team not going all-in by citing the franchise's record-high payroll. Additionally, Steinbrenner advocated for a salary cap in upcoming labor negotiations, while Cashman reported that Judge is expected to be ready for Spring Training despite ongoing rib issues.
