It’s safe to say things didn’t start how the San Antonio Spurs wanted, with the Thunder beating them 116-104 on Opening Night, but I wouldn’t overreact to one game after everything this team accomplished last year.
Fadeaway World argues that the San Antonio Spurs should consider signing one of four available free agents to fill their 15th standard roster spot following an Opening Night loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The suggested targets to provide veteran depth are Bruce Brown, Kevin Porter Jr., Chris Boucher, and Doug McDermott.
While noting that the Spurs have luxury tax constraints and could wait to sign a minimum contract, the outlet highlights Brown as the top target for perimeter defense and championship experience. Porter is proposed for bench scoring, Boucher for frontcourt floor spacing, and McDermott as a familiar shooting specialist.
