Justin Sourdif has managed just one goal in seven games this season, but after an illness sidelined him for Washington’s last two contests, the young forward is taking steps toward a return.

Washington Capitals forward Justin Sourdif has returned to the ice for an individual skate following an illness that sidelined him for two games. Sourdif has scored only one goal through his first seven games of the season, missing recent contests against the New Jersey Devils and Los Angeles Kings. His availability for Saturday's upcoming game against the Buffalo Sabres remains uncertain.
The 24-year-old previously registered 15 goals and 20 assists across 78 games during the 2024-25 season. In addition to his offensive role, Sourdif has contributed on the penalty kill and has been transitioning into playing center for Washington.
