Batting with a runner at No.11 after injuring his hamstring, Paris and Curtis survived 28 overs for the last wicket to hold out NSW…

Injured tail-ender Joel Paris and wicketkeeper Joel Curtis survived 28.1 overs for the final wicket to secure a dramatic draw for Western Australia against New South Wales at the WACA Ground. Chasing 364 to win, WA slumped to 205 for 9 before Paris, batting with a runner due to a hamstring injury, joined Curtis at the crease. The duo blocked out the remaining overs to reach 244 for 9 at stumps, refusing singles and denying NSW victory despite aggressive fielding setups.
New South Wales had controlled the contest, declaring at 440 for 6 and 262 for 5, with Sam Konstas scoring 71 and an unbeaten 151. Western Australia answered with 339 in their first innings before fighting through a fourth-day collapse. Ben Dwarshuis took 4-50 and Tanveer Sangha claimed two wickets, but the visitors could not break the stubborn final stand.
