An emotional Tyrese Haliburton made his long-awaited return from the Achilles tear he suffered in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals, as he lead the Pacers to a gritty season-opening win over the Pelicans.

Tyrese Haliburton marked his return from a torn Achilles tendon by leading the Indiana Pacers to a 123-120 season-opening victory against the New Orleans Pelicans. Playing in his first game in over 16 months, the guard scored 16 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter and added 12 assists across 33 minutes of action.
Pascal Siakam scored a game-high 30 points for Indiana, while Zion Williamson contributed 22 points for the Pelicans. Haliburton, who sustained the injury in June 2025, celebrated the emotional road win in front of family and traveling supporters as the Pacers held off New Orleans' late comeback attempts.
