The Clippers are determined to stay together in the absence of banned owner Steve Ballmer and started the season by routing the Kings 121-96.

The LA Clippers opened their season with a dominant 121-96 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night at Intuit Dome. Playing without suspended owner Steve Ballmer in attendance, the Clippers were led by Darius Garland's game-high 30 points. Head coach Tyronn Lue dedicated the season-opening win to Ballmer following the game.
Ballmer is serving a one-year league suspension after the NBA found the franchise guilty of salary cap circumvention involving Kawhi Leonard. The penalties also included a $30 million fine, the forfeiture of five first-round draft picks, and a six-month suspension for president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank.
