Joel Embiid ironically helped unlock an intriguing 76ers lineup that leaves him out

The Sixer Sense argues that Joel Embiid inadvertently unlocked an effective alternative lineup for the Philadelphia 76ers by suggesting LeBron James play nominal center. After Embiid picked up his third foul late in the first half of their season-opening win against the New York Knicks, head coach Nick Nurse utilized James at the five spot, giving the team a dynamic small-ball look.

Writer Nicolas Kyle Pring highlights that while the 76ers remain at their best with Embiid, deploying James at center creates a fast-paced run-and-gun unit alongside players like Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, and Jaylen Brown. The writer suggests early repetitions with this setup could prove crucial for Philadelphia during crunch time or when navigating frontcourt foul trouble.
