The Story in 60 Seconds

Los Angeles Lakers guard Collin Sexton has been ruled out of Wednesday night's season opener against the Golden State Warriors due to a right soleus strain. Although Sexton returned to full practice on Monday after missing all five preseason contests, head coach JJ Redick and the team opted to hold him out.

Sexton, who joined the Lakers on a two-year, $19.2 million free-agent contract this offseason, could make his team debut on Friday against the LA Clippers. In his absence, Redick is expected to turn to Quentin Grimes and potentially Jaden Hardy or rookie Cameron Carr for backcourt minutes off the bench.
