Bernie Ecclestone, F1, and the FIA have been handed a date for their appeal into the decision to allow Felipe Massa to proceed to trial.

A UK Supreme Court appeal hearing has been scheduled for February 2 and 3, 2027, regarding Felipe Massa's £64 million lawsuit against Bernie Ecclestone, Formula 1, and the FIA. Massa is pursuing damages over lost potential earnings related to the controversial 2008 Singapore Grand Prix and the subsequent championship outcome. The appeal was granted to Ecclestone, F1, and the FIA after the High Court previously allowed Massa's claim for unlawful means of conspiracy to proceed.
Massa's case centers on allegations that senior figures possessed early knowledge of Nelson Piquet Jr.'s deliberate crash during the 2008 season before formal investigations began. If the Supreme Court upholds the appeal from Ecclestone, F1, and the FIA, Massa's lawsuit will be dismissed; otherwise, the case will head to a full High Court trial.
