The Story in 60 Seconds

Construction has officially commenced on a new £1.2 million community pitch at Aberdeen FC's Cormack Park training facility. Representatives from Aberdeen FC Community Trust (AFCCT) and the Cormack Family Foundation, including Aberdeen FC Chairman Dave Cormack, gathered to mark the milestone. The project is backed by The UK Government's Pitching In Fund, the Scottish FA, the Scottish Football Partnership Trust, and the Cormack Family Foundation.

The new pitch marks the initial phase of a broader development plan, which also includes proposals for a new indoor football dome. Workers will install a concrete ring beam around the pitch to prepare the foundation for the planned dome, which requires planning permission to provide an all-weather facility for community, grassroots, and club programs.
