Help could be on the way for the injured Flyers.

The Philadelphia Flyers placed veteran forward Garrett Wilson on waivers on Thursday afternoon to open a roster spot. The move comes as the team prepares for the return of forwards Travis Konecny or Owen Tippett from injured reserve. If Wilson clears waivers, the Flyers plan to assign the 35-year-old enforcer back to their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
Tippett is eligible to return after landing on injured reserve retroactive to October 15 with an upper-body injury. Meanwhile, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reported that Konecny is expected to begin skating soon as he recovers from an ankle injury suffered on October 8.
