Sam Darry is determined to be on the plane to Europe in the All Blacks' 36-man squad.
Canterbury lock Sam Darry is targeting a recall to the All Blacks for their upcoming Northern Tour with a strong performance in Monday's NPC final against Northland. The 26-year-old featured in four tests for New Zealand earlier this year, but he missed out on selection for the Bledisloe Cup series against Australia after former captain Scott Barrett returned.
The All Blacks are scheduled to announce their 36-man squad on Tuesday ahead of matches against Scotland, Wales, England, and an additional opponent. Along with seeking national selection, Darry is focused on helping Canterbury claim back-to-back provincial titles and avenge their earlier 36-12 Ranfurly Shield defeat to Northland.
