Australian boxing legend Jeff Fenech has been hospitalised at Strathfield Private Hospital due to heart problems, breathing difficulties, and severe fatigue. The 62-year-old four-weight world champion had a blood clot removed from his wrist and underwent tests for a potential staph infection recurrence. His son-in-law, NRL player Bradman Best, revealed the health battle ahead of his Kangaroos Test debut against Fiji.
Fenech's hospitalisation has also disrupted Tim Tszyu's preparations for an upcoming WBA middleweight title fight against Erislandy Lara. Basil Nassis has taken charge of Tszyu's gym sessions in the interim, with Fenech hoping to recover in time for the bout scheduled for November or December.
