“Athekame, who signed for Lyon… The coach got it, I got it, we did video sessions with other players, but…

AC Milan is considering terminating Zachary Athekame's loan deal with Olympique Lyonnais early to bring him back in January. The 21-year-old Swiss right-back joined Lyon on a straight loan without a purchase option after Milan signed him for nearly €11 million in 2025. Athekame has impressed in Ligue 1 this season, contributing two goals and three assists across seven league appearances for the French side.
Milan reportedly wants to recall Athekame to handle a congested fixture list during the second half of the campaign. However, terminating the agreement early would require negotiating a compensation fee with Lyon, who would face a sudden shortage at right-back with only Steeve Kango remaining as a natural specialist in that position.
