49ers WR Jordan Watkins has just three catches this season, but Klay Kubiak and Brock Purdy explain why the young receiver could see more opportunities.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jordan Watkins could see an expanded role against the Atlanta Falcons due to widespread injuries across the team's receiving corps. Starting receiver Mike Evans is dealing with Achilles tendinitis and a rib injury, while the 49ers remain without Deebo Samuel, Demarcus Robinson, De'Zhaun Stribling, and Ricky Pearsall.
Offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak and quarterback Brock Purdy both praised Watkins following Thursday's practice, explaining that his limited targets do not reflect his performance. Watkins has recorded three catches for 82 yards this season while continuing to make the most of his opportunities.
