Goaltender Michael DiPietro stopped all 28 shots to record his first career NHL shutout as the Boston Bruins defeated the Nashville Predators 6-0 on Thursday at TD Garden. The milestone carried extra emotional significance for DiPietro on the team's Hockey Fights Cancer night, having lost his mother to cancer when he was five years old.
David Pastrnak led the offense with two goals and two assists, while Charlie McAvoy contributed four assists. Casey Mittelstadt, Elias Lindholm, JJ Peterka, and Mark Kastelic also scored to extend Boston's point streak to seven games.
