Texans Legend JJ Watt Breaks Silence After Major Career News

Former Houston Texans star JJ Watt has signed a multi-year deal with CBS Sports to become the network's lead NFL game analyst. Watt will work alongside play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz and sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson on the top broadcast crew, which is scheduled to call Super Bowl LXII in Atlanta. Following the announcement on October 22, Watt shared a video expressing gratitude and acknowledging the significant responsibility that comes with the role.

Watt joined CBS Sports in 2023 as a studio analyst before transitioning to game commentary in 2025. The promotion comes after former lead analyst Tony Romo departed the network following an arrest in July for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. CBS Sports leadership praised Watt's preparation, insight, and rapid growth in the broadcasting industry.
