McLaren have decided against handing Lando Norris an internal punishment after he caused a final-lap collision with teammate Oscar Piastri during the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix Sprint. Norris spun Piastri out while fighting for fourth place at Turn 5. Although CEO Zak Brown and team principal Andrea Stella were initially furious, McLaren reportedly considered the matter resolved following internal discussions in which Norris took responsibility and acknowledged his misjudgment.
The stance marks a contrast to 2025, when McLaren temporarily granted Piastri preferential qualifying track position after Norris barged into him at the same venue. Speaking ahead of the 2026 United States Grand Prix, Piastri confirmed that he was satisfied with how Brown and Stella managed the situation and stated that the team was ready to move forward.
