Liverpool reportedly inform Valencia about their plan to sign David Otorbi, but the La Liga club take quick steps to protect him.
Liverpool have reportedly informed Valencia and David Otorbi's representative of their plan to activate the 19-year-old winger's £25m (€30m) release clause. Club officials allegedly met with Valencia manager Javier Aguirre and sporting director Braulio Vazquez to discuss a permanent move for the Spanish attacker after scouting him at Mestalla.
In response to the Premier League interest, Valencia moved quickly to trigger a three-year contract extension for Otorbi. The extension reportedly raises his release clause to around £50m (€60m) alongside a salary increase, complicating any potential transfer pursuit.
