The Los Angeles Lakers announced that after waiving Dalton Knecht, free agent signing Matisse Thybulle has taken his old jersey number.

The Los Angeles Lakers announced that free-agent signing Matisse Thybulle switched to jersey number 4, which was vacated immediately after the team waived Dalton Knecht. Knecht was waived as the Lakers finalized their regular-season roster ahead of their opener against the Golden State Warriors, leaving him as an unrestricted free agent.
Thybulle previously wore number 26 during the preseason before taking Knecht's former number. Following his release, Knecht reportedly drew interest from the Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors as he seeks a potential two-way contract.
