As expected, Jacob Misiorowski brought some record heat to MLB’s biggest stage.
Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski set an MLB record by throwing a 103.5 mph fastball, the fastest pitch in recorded World Series history. Starting Game 1 against the Tampa Bay Rays at American Family Field, the 24-year-old right-hander brought his overpowering velocity to baseball's biggest stage.
Misiorowski entered the Fall Classic following a dominant regular season where he led Major League Baseball with a 1.80 ERA and 252 strikeouts. The opening contest pitted Milwaukee's young ace against Tampa Bay veteran starting pitcher Nick Martinez, as both franchises sought their first championship title.
