Tampa Bay Rays manager Kevin Cash confirmed the team will maintain its aggressive baserunning strategy despite William Contreras throwing out two runners in a 3-2 World Series loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday. Contreras caught Victor Mesa Jr. at third in the fifth inning and threw out Jonathan Aranda at second in the sixth.
Tampa Bay led the American League with 164 stolen bases during the regular season and had converted all 11 postseason attempts before the game. The Rays, who later executed a double steal in the ninth inning, will face Milwaukee in Game 2 on Saturday.
