Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh became India's highest wicket-taker in a calendar year in men's T20I cricket on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Arshdeep claimed his 38th wicket of the year during the second T20I against New Zealand at Hagley Oval in Christchurch, surpassing Bhuvneshwar Kumar's previous national record of 37 wickets set in 2022.
The left-arm pacer reached the milestone after dismissing Glenn Phillips, who was caught at deep point by Naman Dhir. With 38 wickets, Arshdeep equaled Wanindu Hasaranga's tally and moved within one wicket of Ireland pacer Josh Little's Full Member world record of 39 wickets set in 2022.
